Coffee and Computers Don’t Mix.

It was a beautiful Tuesday evening, and I was in the middle of a very energetic stream playing Bioshock. It was cup number two of a delicious decaf from Kroger and the story was building in Bioshock. I then tried to reach for my coffee without looking…

And here is what it looked like, seconds before initiating a force shut down.

Here is a shot from the front of it.

I’m a moron. I know this. But, it was time for the computer to get a good cleaning! Thankfully, almost every part of this case has the ability to be taken apart. And it’s almost all held together with Phillips head screws. So taking this part is actually very easy. So, i figured I’d give the entire thing a bath. Here is the chassis completely stripped.

God damn. She is sexy.

Here she is getting a bath!

Once this was done, I decided I would make an event out of putting the rig back together and stream it! So that night, I setup the living room for a build stream and went to town. I’ve done a few build streams before, but this time I wanted to try something a little different. I have a GoPro Hero4 Black that I absolutely love. I had been using it as a webcam for a few streams, so I wanted to try and see if I could do a POV style stream where I wore the GoPro on my head and used that as the primary camera for the stream.

Whelp, I did just that! But not before making another huge mistake.

Yup. You guessed it. Spilled again hahaha. BUT DON’T WORRY. No parts got wet this time. If you want to check out the entire POV Build Stream, you can click here to be taken to Twitch to watch the VOD.

After about three and a half hours of building, she was put back together and working like nothing had every happened! She’s actually running about 7 degrees cooler than normal since I cleaned all the filters, radiator and fans.

Well, I think that is enough stupidity for one week. See you guys later!
